Michigan is pretty much one big glacial deposit of sand with an abundance of water. Saugatuck is one small town surrounded by water and anchored in the dunes. From the Kalamazoo River to Lake Kalamazoo and out to the big lake with the dunes in between, whatever your pleasure, you have options to get out on the water and enjoy. Choose your vehicle: small, medium or large.

When it comes to food in Saugatuck, we are spoiled for choice throughout the year, and especially during the season, with more than 25 restaurants within walking distance from the inn and another 10 plus within a four minute drive. If you’ve stayed with us you know that food is our love language.

Spring is just such a pleasure after a hard weather winter; especially April.

Our garden at the Inn is my first, apart from a postage stamp in Old Town in Chicago. After ten years it still amazes and inspires me every year! The daffodils and crocus are up, the tulips are poking through and budding, and the herb garden survived with chives, parsley, thyme, mint and oregano. Plants whose names I cannot recall, but that I planted, are poking up through the ground as well as weeds, known and unknown. All are welcome!
