Our Favorite: Restaurants
When it comes to food in Saugatuck, we are spoiled for choice throughout the year, and especially during the season, with more than 25 restaurants within walking distance from the inn and another 10 plus within a four minute drive. If you’ve stayed with us you know that food is our love language.
Choosing our favorite restaurants in Saugatuck is like choosing your favorite child; its not possible. There are no franchises here so every restaurant that you walk into is locally owned by people who live here. That being said, here’s our short list of favorites that we regularly recommend to guests based on what they’re looking for:
Phil’s Bar and Grill: Its your local bar and grill, but elevated. Welcoming service and a wide menu well done. Go early or you’ll wait, so plan ahead.
Duck Alley: French influenced, but not fancy, and plenty of duck on the menu many ways. Rich, original and made in house by chef Jazer and Dominic, co-owners.
Bowdies Chop House: Regularly voted one of if not the best steakhouses in Michigan. Yes, the steaks are amazing but the sides are the stars. Great special occasion spot.
Saugataco: Chef Lindsey and husband Alec are passionate about food. Creative, fresh, and always about flavor. Order at the counter and have a cocktail while waiting for your nosh to arrive. Super low key and friendly, a block away on the river.
Borrowed Time: Small plates created by the super creative chef Max and wines curated by owners Kim and Robert. Its a four minute drive and definitely worth it.
Noble Twist: On site brewery and artisan pizza. He’s a beer and pizza nerd; it shows. Thin crust pizza, chewy and nutty, great set options, courtyard dining in the summer.
You’ll always have a wonderful and well thought out full breakfast with us here at the inn. Your dinner options are pretty amazing as well.
